Just as a quick update, Hurricane Sandy was gracious enough to leave us with power, but no leaves left on the trees. We really got off easy! And I'm grateful!
Last week my mom and dad and Beth came and stayed with us after their vacation to the Caymans. It was SO good to have them visit with us!
This is a little out of order timeline wise, but on the last day of their visit we went to Harpers Ferry to enjoy the trees and a little history.

| so cute with that little hat on |
| that's one good lookin' couple |
| Miles always melts my heart. He's on a rock in the Shanendoah River |
| the raised railroad tracks are pretty cool |
Someone got a lot of freebie rides...
Earlier in the week, on Tuesday, we took a tour of the Masonic Temple in Alexandria that's dedicated to George Washington. It was really cool! The architecture was super impressive.
| I even went out onto the look-out. My back may have been pressed against the wall the whole time, and I barely ever let go of Miles' hand, but I did it! |
On Thursday we had a spooky Halloween dinner. I've always wanted to and never have before. It was even more fun making it with mom and Beth!
| haunted house brownies |
| blue slime sipper drink (it was mostly blue jello, so it really was slimy!) shepherd's pie with ghost mashed potatoes, and a bone pretzel. |
| bahaha, beth's ghostie was a little sad ;) |
We had such a good time! We also went to our ward trunk or treat and Miles' last soccer class, but I want to give those their own posts. I love being with family. Thanks for spending the week with us.
